If you're about accuracies and want more features to develop games use Nintendulator.

AS FAR AS I KNOW the PowerPak supported FDS files since [url=http://www.retrousb.com/downloads/powerpakchanges.txt]V1.20. To get the extra channel you'll need some modding if you are using a NES though.
