Appearently my brother had one of these, he said some guy on the street was selling it, He gave it pretty cheap appearently and it only had a few games, I made sure to check if he meant to say 32X, so I showed him a picture of both, he said he had the one that was a Sega Neptune... I wonder how that man would get a hold of it, and how my brother and the shopman had no idea how rare and special that prototype machine was... |

I never heard those stories, he could be lying... but how did he recognize it and what does my age have to do with it...
The reason why I wasn't there when he got it is because he is my step-brother and was not living with me, not because I was not born yet... |

looking at the Wikipedia entry for it, it seems like some protos got out. I remember hearing about the supposed sale of a few of these consoles from a whole saler back in 1999 or so, but I couldn't find a precise source on it(I *think* I read it in some gaming rag?). |

The only existing prototypes are solid plastic shells with no innards. |

EGM April Fool's joke. I remember because I actually followed the link from the magazine intending to buy one.

Was it Sega Neptune or Mars that was suppose to be the all in one unit from Sega?
I'm a little rusty on Sega prototypes... |

AS FAR AS I KNOW, Mars was the internal name for the 32X add-on unit. Neptune was the all-in-one console.
Personally, I like to call my Genesis (mk. I) + 32X + Sega CD combo the "Jupiter" because it's so friggin' huge. |

heres a picture.
It was basically a Sega Genesis and a 32X in one right? I remember hearing about this in an old Tips and Tricks i believe that someone was selling a bunch. |
