I was always under the impression that Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 for Dreamcast was merely a port of the PC version, but perhaps not. I was reading an article recently (though it's been on the net for awhile now) that seems to suggest otherwise. This gives me greater hope that a relatively complete Dreamcast build may exist.
"Five years ago, we made the initial push toward console development when we created Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.2. The [game's] dual-handed combat system, movement control scheme, and over-the-top visual style was created with the Sega Dreamcast in mind. Like a number of developers, we lost our funding when the Dreamcast lost favor in the marketplace. Our fallback was to release a PC version." -- Robert Atkins, Ritual Entertainment

It wasnt a stretch for them to go PC or Dreamcast considering it was based on the quake 3 engine. |
