http://www.skrybe.net

I'll be using the above site to get new NES dumps out to the public. Currently, there's a dump of a Double Dragon 2 prototype, a redump of Terminator 2, and files ripped from a prototype of the Game Action Replay. Also, everything I released at my previous website that never made it into GoodNES (i.e. uncensored Maniac Mansion) is posted on the older releases page.

I've got a lot of stuff I want to release, hopefully I can rotate 3 or 4 new roms onto the main page every couple weeks or so. I'll post here when I upload new stuff. Old dumps will be archived on the previous releases page.

Please spread the address around anywhere were people might be interested. I want to make sure people get to see these games.

OK I'll admit to having not done any homework on this, but was there a prototype of Batman The Movie for NES that showed it to be a NOT BATMAN game? It barely clings to the licence as it is.

Not that anyone's aware of. The only prototype screens I've seen were almost identical to the finished version, aside from some extra cinema scenes, different intro text, and the inclusion of a 1UP item (the graphics of which are still in the ROM). Still, I'm pretty sure it was Batman from the very beginning, as it just feels like a Batman game.

Given the screens I've seen, I was always under the impression that Batman started development based on the comic, and was later adjusted to fit with the movie. The early cinemas looked like they were based on art from the comic, and the text didn't sound like anything from the film.

Regarding my website, thanks everyone for your compliments. I just noticed today that the Terminator 2 redump and everything on the old releases page have been included in the newest release of GoodNES. I'll be taking those down during the next update, so get them now if you want them. Double Dragon 2 and the Game Master Kid files will be rotated to the old releases page.

Hey scrybe,

what happened to your old site? I loved visiting it and reading the different reviews. It's been done for quite a while now, and was wondering if you have any plans on putting it back online?

Changes where it used to be hosted made it inconvenient to keep the old site up, and bandwidth costs plus a personal lack of interest have discouraged me from putting it on this new host. I appreciate the compliments, but I don't have any plans for it to come back. Sorry.

When I had my DD2, T2, and GAR protos dumped, it's actually the bios and sram dump of the GAR proto, or the Game Master Kid, as the proto was called. I also got the BIOS and SRAM of the released verion if anyone's interested. I've heard of the battery dying in the GAR before, which erases the whole cart, killing it. For some reason, as I understand it, they put the program itself on SRAM. So, for a long time I was deathly afraid my proto would die. Sooo glad Kev Horton was able to dump those for me. I got a CopyNES from him not long after that, so it's all good. CopyNES can fix GARs, btw (reload the image onto it).

Pemdawg and Jurai, thank you for offering hosting. I appreciate it, but I just don't have any interest in bringing the old site back.

hen58, I'm glad you like it.

Everyone, I'm working on an update, I'll have something new posted real soon.

Skrybe and I are hoarding our old sites and retaining their legacies.

You two are probably going through your old site files and adding <butter> tags to increase their value.
