Gamepark Holdings has just about released the newest product in their Gamepark line of Linux handheld devices. Endgadget makes it known, that they dig it

Basically, this is very cool system, with a nice gui and very dedicated homebrew and emulation support. Add an optional cradle (with 3 USB slots to support mice, keyboards and joypads) and a TV cable (either directly from the EXT port in the GP2X, or via s-video in the cradle) and you have an incredible package.
I have ordered the newest iteration and the cable, power pack, and cradle to allow playing anything from NES, Amiga, Neo Geo, Gameboy, or MS DOS stuff on the telly.
Honestly, there is no need for a Wii or Xbox 360 to play Rygar or Herzog Zwei or Custer's Last....ok Kaboom!! on your tv anymore.
THere are shortcomings, as I have found Gameboy Advance and PSX emulation to be lacking. But they are improving all the time.
Sega Saturn and 3DO are not even on the board, but otherwise this is a wonderful system. |

| I really wish they would bundle rechargable batteries with it. I heard you can use rechargable AA's but that still doesnt last as long as even a psp does. |

I did wonderbutt. And congratulations on your name.
I have been into emulation a very long time and I can tell you that NES, Genesis, Neo Geo, CPSII, Master System and others are all virtually perfect.
And to boot: with the new 16 GB SD cards you can get the amount (read ALL) games on a single card. Truly fantastic.
Can't urge people enough to get this. |

I appreciate your appreciation of my ridiculous nick. I take pride in my mad bowelmovement making skills.
I will take your advice on the 16GB card, I just think I'll wait for the price to fall.
Anyway, I asked this because I want to give away the cradle. It works fine, but with the TV out cable I bought, and the increasing sizes of the SD card capacities, the cradle has become superfluous.
It cost me 50 bucks, but really, It's just not being used.
If anyone can answer the following question, it's his (or hers).
What is my favorite Russian pirate NES cart based on the wacky wabbit from the Warner Brother? Now time for answer! |

With the cradle's USB ports, is it possible to get multiplayer working? That would be sweet.
Also, how is the D-pad? |

The thing sucks. I tried using wireless controllers. But it was a no go.
Maybe the power supply I bought is lacking.
Some cheapo chinese thing.
I did access a USB HD, that was cool.
But the main reason I got it, to use the GP2X as a emu box for the TV has been a flop.
If you want the bloody thing, I'll ship it to you provided you guess the name of the game I hinted at above. |

I know what it is, but I don't have one of those blasted GamePark things. And actually, though the graphics are blatantly supposed to be Looney Tunes, in spirit, it's based on a Russian Tom & Jerry equivalent of sorts. |
