Also, how about Megaman: The Wily Wars? I remember Gamepro once reporting (ProNews) that Capcom had announced an SNES port.
Though I guess if Capcom supposedly sold the US rights to Sega (did it get a Sega Channel release? Don't think it got a cart release here.), that's probably the end of that.

Yeah, the Genesis version wound up being a Sega Channel-exclusive in the U.S. I think Europe got a cartridge release, though.

Yep, I have one of those.

It would have been nice to have a US release, though, since the PAL version plays the music quite slowly and is not compatible with NTSC systems.

Fables and Fiends was supposed to be a port of the PC title which was titled Legend of Kyrandia: Fables & Fiends. Two sequels followed on the PC but the SNES port never materialzed.

Oddly enough, the one or two tiny screenshots of the SNES Fables & Fiends published in Nintendo Power resembled Young Merlin much more than the PC Fables & Fiends. Considering that both Fables & Fiends and Young Merlin were developed by Westwood Studios, I'm thinking that the SNES port just evolved into Young Merlin somewhere along the way.

Interesting. I didn't know any screenshots of that existed.

Nope, never released, to my knowledge. The first 2 were released for Genesis (the second is an awesome strategy game, btw) but appearantly the 3rd is unreleased. Who knows if a proto ever actually existed?

I have made another update. Most notably, DreamTR sent me screenshots of Fireteam Rogue.

Right now, I am working on an interview with the creator of the unreleased game Targa (aka Rendering Ranger in Japan). If there is anything that you think I should ask, let me know.

Alright, I found a backup of some unreleased SNES pics and stuff. You interested in any of it?

-Chuck Rock 2 (EGM 7/93 preview)
-"Don" (EGM 12/94 blurb on some SFC game that apparently didn't come out)
-Dream Probe (EGM 5/93 "Review Crew" blurb)
-Savage Empire (NP 3?/95 preview)
-Sengoku (EGM 12/93 preview)
-Toxic Crusaders (EGM 3?/93 "Review Crew" blurb)
-Waterworld (NP 12/95 review, the whole 8-pager)
...and a EGM preview of a US proto of Undercover Cops they claim is(was?) 70% done (not scanned, but I could probably re-locate it if desired)

And some stuff I believe Skrybe scanned: Freeway Flyboys (NP capsule review), Super Loopz (3-page NP review), Lost Mission (NP capsule review).
And a few ads scanned by Li Wang: Galactic Defenders (definitely Super Chinese World 2), First Queen (released in Japan for SFC, and apparently got a few sequals for NEC PC-98).

That would be Manfred Trenz, the Turrican creator right? I remember some proto version of that game surfacing which had him as the protagonist, instead of the regular hero as a joke. I wonder if he still has that version lying around somewhere. I can't really think of any interesting questions, though I am curious if he remembers an NTSC version of Super Turrican for Nes ever existing.

I actually own this. It's a real bastard sometimes (but still fun)

NES version of this, too.

It's funny cuz it says "Dubble Dibble" in its funky NES voice.

The Targa prototype that was shown before proved to be nothing more than a hack.

Time for a big bump up. I have been inspired to do a large update of my unreleased games section, as I haven't done it for a long time, and I know it is the reason a lot of people go to my website. First thing I am doing is updating/creating pages for any unreleased game where we have a known ROM image.

What better way to start than with Real Shitty Batman!

I updated the Apocalypse II page with some scans from Nintendo Power on the game:

I just finished up an article on Batman: Revenge of the Joker:

http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0118

I have to say, that is one of the longest articles I have ever done.

Finished a brand new article on Congo - The Secret of Zinj.

http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0120

Someone was telling me they saw some screenshots in Nintendo Power for this game, but I never saw any. Must have been in a different magazine.

I'm really loving these writeups, Evan.

Also, that Congo programmer's story is depressing as hell. Jeez.

Martin wrote that Congo article for Lost Levels, but I turned it down because it needed too much editing. Man, I'd kill for something like that handed to me now.

You could tell the guy was really crushed by that game not getting released when he wrote that huge essay on the game. Sometimes the corporate world is not easy, and I can't see how anyone could devote that much of your time on a project unless you are truly obsessed.

At any rate, my next article is not going to be on an unreleased game, because I wanted to play a good game for once!
