Looking at the game.com page on Wiki, there apparently was footage of this game in action shared among game.com newsgroup members. Does anyone here happen to have this and would be willing to share?

I don't remember any footage, but there are definitely screenshots around.

Mmmh doesn't seem to work well the search function, never mind there is always Google.

For whoever is interested here a screenshot of the unreleased MGS for Game.com and C&C 2 :

EDIT : Yeah that footage would be great.

Footage would indeed be great. I have this nagging feeling that some GC games wouldn't have been so bad and unplayable if it wasn't for that damn blur. I wish an emulator was available for me to test that theory and play these things on a real screen.

SotN would have owned just for curiosity's sake. Could you imagine showing it to fans years later?

"Hey, what's the best game ever, in your opinion?"

"Well, SotN, of course."

"Yeah, well check this sumbitch out!"

"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"

I doubt Konami actually had any involvement in the development of the Game.com versions of Castlevania SotN and MGS as many fansites claim they did. People tend to ignore that the Game.com is really nothing more than an advanced 90's version of their cheap LCD games. I'm not sure why there's so much interested in uncovering them

Big names always attract people.

I'm sure there'd be an equally great desire, if not even greater, if the Resident Evil 2 game never had been released (or there was solid info claiming there was a Claire version set to be released too)

Who did develop all the games for the Tiger Game.Com, though?
I mean, it wouldn't come to me as a shocker if everything was done in-house by Tiger or evt. by some weirdo never-to-be-heard-of-again Asian company. And that they were just fishing for licenses/names left 'n right to use.

Which reminds me, I wonder what happened to Brian Provinciano's site (BriPro.com, same guy who was working on Grandtheftendo, by the way). If memory serves me right, he had a pretty cool (homemade) setup for capturing stills and video of various systems, including the Game.Com.

Good question. All I know is that Centipede and Frogger were done through Handheld Games.

From what I know all those games were developed internally or by small developer contracted by Tiger.
Tiger just bought the license to develop them.
The interest in this case for most people is related to the brand for sure.
However the fact that apparently there wasn't any images on the net ( although if RedEye say that screenshots were floating around, that should be the case ) is the main draw point for me.
I didn't even known that a port of C&C 2 was planned for the handheld ( despite IGN listing it ).

Personally I more interested in unreleased games for Super Famicom Smile

Thank you very much for the images, Parasyte.
Didin't know there were other media online about it.

Edit:
Parasyte is there other media for the Game.com's C&C2 port online that you are aware of ?

That's pretty much the only screen shot for that game, I guess.

It's important to note that these "pixel perfect" screen shots were usually created as mock-ups or concept art. In many cases, no code had ever been written. This was exactly the case with "Small Soldiers":

I remember reading somewhere a statement by Thomas Fessler (one of the game's designers) that this screen host (top) is a mock-up, made with tools like the ones shown in the second shot (which I was lucky enough to snag from his website, http://www.handheldgames.com/ before the Game.com section was wiped out.)

There's already GAME.COM emulator: MESS

It can boot the bios, the internal card game, and one comercial game "Lights Out!", nothing else

And its the only game.com emulator out there

That's why I said "when's that Game.com emulator going to be released?"

Meaning, the one he has Wink

If MESS played anything, then I wouldn't be asking now would I?

Besides, I was only teasing. I know Parasyte is not going to release it.

Well, you can't sell a Game.com emulator, as nobody would buy it except someone crazy like me. I'd pay 5, maybe 10 bucks for it if it was very well done and had blurring and non-blurring options to do "true" emulation.

I'm not sure what the point of having an emulator is if it benefits no one.

I'm sure the issue of this emulator has been beaten to death, but anyone want to give me the Cliff's notes version on why it wasn't released?

I was a member of the newsgroups at the time and might have a copy of the video on an old computer. I remember watching it.

I was told by someone I trust that MGS for the game.com existed, but only as an auto-playing demo. He said it was made "internally" (possibly subcontracted, who knows) by Tiger and pushed on to Konami to try to get them to give up the license.

He seemed to think Kojima would be the person to talk to if anyone still had a copy. Tiger probably threw that junk out a decade ago, they've been bought and sold too many times.
