So I just found the only footage that seems to exist of this game. Enjoy:

Seeing how reviews (not previews) of the PAL version of this game were made both for printed magazines and the internet, it very possible that this game was finished and ready for release. Some places state that it got a very limited release, but I still haven't found any proof of that.

Oddly enough, there's also a review of it at Gamefaqs that seems legit, and also mentions some "poorly translated text" so it can't be referring to the Japanese version.

For the record, this site states that the release date was to be June 28 2002.

PS: I was going to post this in the "Unreleased games" forum, but then again it was released in Japan as Gekisha Boy 2.

EDIT: Oh, and in case anybody is interested, here's the highest resolution cover I was able to find, with its watermark removed:

EDIT 2: Not sure how reliable is this source, but I've found some info on the cancellation of this game, in the comments for this article:
Quote:
Oh, and Gekisha Boy 2 was supposed to be released in Europe in 2001 as "Polaroid Pete", but the publisher disappeared literally days before the supposed release, which was bloody annoying. Several of their PS1 games were later reprinted by Virgin Interactive, who became Avalon before being swallowed by Titus, but Polaroid Pete never reappeared - I emailed Titus on the subject a couple of years later, but they apparently had no idea what the balls I was talking about.

I posted that comment, I dunno if I'm a reliable source.

I remember a UK PS2 magazine running a competition to win one of about five copies of the game around the time it was supposed to be released, though.. I wonder if anything came of that.

I've been really curious about this one too, you might have inspired me to actually look into it (finally).

And 8 years later, a review copy of it was found and dumped:

...And it still hasn't been publically released, it seems.
