Full Disclosure: My sister is somewhat involved with the development of this game, so apologies if this is construed as spammy. I promised her I'd mention it to people who were into this sort of game and I'm pretty sure there are several fans of old school style beat 'em ups on this board.
I'm not a big fan of beat 'em up games in general (I prefer Renegade to River City Ransom, if that gives you any indication) but this seemed quite good from the demo I played and I suspect fans of the genre will really enjoy it. I'd go into more detail but you can probably see everything you'll want to see in the trailer.
Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9s7mOa8KTQ
And here's the official site where you can download a demo: www.seriousimpact-works.com/bpecan/
And here's an article reviewing the game, which will gave you the information that's totally lacking from this post: http://thehypeweekly.com/2012/08/09/banzai-pecan-last-hope-for-the-young-century/
The game is currently available for purchase ($14.95) from Desura and they're working on getting it released on Steam. |

The artwork for that game is so shitty that I have less than no interest in trying it. |

You must really hate most of the games that get released around here, then... |

There is a huge fucking difference between lo-tech presentation and shittacular artwork that looks like DeviantART puked into a bowl of moldy diarrhea.
This game has no art talent involved. |

I imagine you moping for weeks when they switched Zelda to cel shading. |

...or the art in this game in particular could be bad, the animations awkward, the character designs inconsistent and unappealing, etc, while Celda has an extremely well-designed style that is merely not to some people's tastes. |

Well...uh, the Sengoku billboard is a nice touch. I'll give the game that much. |

Mustard's sister helped create a game, and he just wanted everyone to know. No need to trash it. |

I'm guessing she was the artist from this line of defense. Comparing to Wind Waker? Really? Deadguy's being a little harsh but he's voicing exactly what I thought upon watching the video. It's fine to draw for your own enjoyment, but if you're going to publish that art, commercially no less, try and make sure it's not terrible first. |

Wow, you are really not that intelligent.
My dislike of the Zelda series' stagnation into idiot-proof handholding aside, I thought the art for Wind Waker was really well-done and an exciting visual change. Of course, that is because it was done by artists with talent, taste and vision.
But whatever. Keep denying the truth. Your sister's art is garbage. |

You're bitching about "crappy" artwork in a game intentionally made to feel old school and then question my intelligence? And when have you ever even seen my sister's art? |

Hey guys, don't knock my restoration. It's "retro". That means you can't hold it to any artistic standard. |

No, my sister had nothing to do with the art in the game. She did the voice of one of the bosses. I have no idea who did the art.
I suppose we have very different views when it comes to art. The graphics seem fine to me for the sort of game it is. Then again, I'm generally interested in gameplay, not graphics. The idea of refusing to play a game because of the graphics makes about as much sense as refusing to eat a sandwich because of the color of the wrapper.
The reason I brought up Wind Waker was because that was the most recent example that came to mind of children throwing a tantrum about something as irrelevant as graphics. |

I have more than enough good games to play that have good art, so this is of no interest.
You need to grow up and thicken your skin before your next try at pimping. |
