I am the first one to find the hidden, intentional Two-and-a-Half banks of CHR data in the ROM at $39810...

No pics yet... Unfortinately

(Could also be a nod to Blob Brothers 2's method of artwork not used in-game, of which is funny!)

Ed ech'd ihicat. Oui haat du muug ryntan.

I really, really hope the secret language I chose hasn't been forgotten. D:

MORE IMPORTANT EDIT: Tongueman, if you can get those scans (when it's convenient for you, that is) and direct me to them, I will love you almost enough to make your name into a verb.

Well, maybe not that much. Maybe enough for a peck on the cheek, at least.

This translation made me go through the whole game in one sitting for the first time, and it was awesome. It's nice how it avoids straight transliterations with Hebereke's speech (except perhaps for that very first "uwaaah").

As for the "knight speech", it's fun to read even though it does feel a bit odd for a character called "Sukezaemon". I guess the other choice would have been making him speak like in a poorly dubbed Japanese movie. =P

Was "O-Chan" the officially given overseas name, by the way? I've always thought it was "Oh-Chan", for some reason.

Great work, guys!

After a brief check just now, I realize that her "official" name in the European localizations (that I totally forgot existed) is "Oh-chan". おーちゃん can be romanized as Oh-chan, Oo-chan, Ō-chan, or O-chan, depending on preference/how the TL feels at the time. Due to my forgetting-about-the-existence-of-an-official-localization, we went with O-chan, which does a delightful job on cutting down on the number of characters in a text box. D: Hebe's speech (pyo) would also have been impossible (pipyon) to deal with (roooon). It also would've looked ridiculous.

For the record, regarding the attacks:

Regarding the attacks: All of the attack names are new to this translation.
Hebe's Head Bopper was "Kubichonpa Attack" (Neck chomper?)
O-Chan's Freon Breath was "Ice Kochikochi Attack" (Ice Freezer attack)
Sukezaemon's Eye-popper was "Mendama tobide attack" (flying eyeball attack)
Jennifer's Belch Bomber was "Uge- bakudan attack" (uge bomb attack. I couldn't find a meaning for uge- and figured that it's probably a belching sound.)

Here's the official translations, from Hebereke's Popoon SNES:

That's almost the same translation for Sukezaemon's!

(delicious, delicious manual scans)

I think I love you. I've started work on translating the manual and halfassedly trying to paste in the text without totally destroying the artwork when it can be avoided. failing that, I'll just post the translations page-by-page and a nicer, more competent person can do the text formatting. >>; Thanks, man. You're awesome.
