The Adventure of Valkyrie II: Beyond The Door of Time (ワルキューレの冒険Ⅱ ~遥かなる時の扉~) was a planned sequel to the Famicom game The Adventure of Valkyrie: The Key of Time that was announced for the MSX2 by Namco in 1988.

The game received coverage in MSX-related publications at the time, most notably from a "disk magazine" published by Compile titled Disc Station. Disc Station No. 4 in particular features a non-playable teaser for Valkyrie II, which starts off with a summary of the first game's plot, followed by a list of planned features (promising a larger scale than the original, with more events and over 500 characters) and a gallery of the game's enemy characters.

The reason for the game's cancellation has never been clarified. It simply disappeared from Namco's release schedule after a certain point.

I first learned about the canceled MSX2 game from Action Gameside Vol. 1, which featured a special article covering Namco's Valkyrie series.

This Valkyrie fansite has a page for the demo as well

And finally, here's a video of the demo from Niconico Douga (skip to 06:15, since the first six minutes is for a Xevious demo)

Damn. Its a shame this didn't get released. I quite like the Valkyrie games. Wonder if anything beyond this demo was ever developed.
