I remember the May 1998 edition of that column, it had a couple of errors, like saying that Super Turrican 2 was unreleased, except in Columbia. I'm sure that I have a scan of that issue somewhere... |

I only remember reading that in a letter response, but I suppose they could've made an article as well. |

Kinda ironic that a game with 360 in the title was playstation exclusive. |

Not really when not even the original Xbox was released yet.
In fact, someone even made a PS1 game that was just called 360. |

I recall the UK's N64 Magazine running a very similar feature, possibly around the same time or a bit earlier (I'm pretty sure it covered Mini Racers as well) .. but I have no idea which issue it was in, and N64 seems pretty sparsely covered by scans online, so it's proving kinda hard to locate. |

Oh man, Vapor Trails. Reading the Vapor Trails articles that would pop up in Gamepro from time to time as a kid is probably what got me so interested in unreleased games in the first place. Seeing stuff like Sonic X-Treme and Starfox 2 and knowing I'd never be able to play them made me want to learn everything there was to learn about them, and reading about crazy shit that never made it out like Tattoo Assassins and Virtua Hamster and Duelin' Firemen and just sorta imagining that the hell they were like was great.
And today we can play most those and a bunch of other cool and weird games that never made it to shelves nearly instantly! Crazy.
I still have this and the May '98 issue on my bookshelf. And if there was another article before mid-2004 I have the issue that was in too. My Gamepro subscription was long. |
