Ok. I remember in the early 90s in an EGM magazine, I saw some screen shots of Battletoads for SNES that never made the cut in the final game.

I being young and naive, thought they were secret or even bonus levels that you could some how access ( kind of like the bonus levels in Karate Champ NES). I remember trying button and pad combinations throughout the levels to see if I could unlock them. Alas, to no avail. I must have finished the game over 30 times without success.

The levels were more of the scrolling beat'em up type which of all the level types, were the ones I really enjoyed. Such a pity that more were not added.

Does anyone know if there was a proto with the levels I'm talking about? I only saws the screens once in the EGM mag and have never seen them since. Anyone know what I'm writing about or have any scans of the pics of them?

I would really like to see them one last time.

:?:

As far as your question about the unused levels still existing on some proto cart, I personally haven't heard of any SNES Battletoads protos that have surfaced.

I could ask DreamTR. I believe he got a prototype of a Battletoads a few weeks ago.

That would be swell.

Oh, right, I think I vaguely remember seeing pics on the back of the box that weren't in the game. I assumed they were from another version, as many games from the day tended to do.

Legend of Kage really pissed me off big time for pulling that shit.

I was talking to DreamTR, and he doesn't think there is any extra levels.

thats nothing, the manual basicly tells you all about all these cool features and tells you a bunch of crap about a totally differnt game (much closer to the arcade version) I was pretty livid as a kid when i bought the game,

karnov did the same thing as did Kid niki.
