Hi, I found this user's YouTube channel that has a huge collection of '80s/'90s game videos (mostly collected from Nico Nico Video), including a large set of GTV & Famimaga videos, Hudson promotional stuff, etc. It's chock full of historical stuff:

Including a news report on Nintendo franchise stores

Where they reveal that in exchange for Nintendo controlling everything about their shop, they get more than 10x the number of copies of games compared to non-franchise shops!

And here's my favourite image from the whole lot of videos:

Takahashi Meijin the gun nut.

This channel is run by Kiddo who is a member here (link) and used to hang out on #protos.

He also has a great blog about Satellaview: http://superfamicom.org/blog/

Nope, more like World of Nintendo... where Nintendo themselves supply all the displays, counters, paneling, signs, TVs, and floor tiles!

You should watch that video (Xmas 1991 news report)... basically the shops complain that their choice is to remain independent, and get 60 copies of Zelda TOTAL, or join the dark side... and be able to sell 500 copies in only two hours on that given day.

Oh, someone made a thread here for my YouTube? Hah, I've occasionally posted something I thought to be interesting on here. Smile

Right now I'm actually looking at the mostly unexplored marketing world of Japanese radio and the gaming-media-related items that have crossed into there.

While a good bit more recent, you might also be interested in the Fukkatsu! Super Mario Club video from Christmas 2010.
