I'm sure several of you have already seen this, (Particularly you Frank.) but I figured it was very relevant to post here. This is coverage of a Gunpei Yokoi Exhibit. Toshiro Iwai was a speaker at it, and he actually showed off Sound Fantasy for the Super Famicom. You can view the movie in the link. |

Very neat, though I can understand why Nintendo didn't bother releasing it considering how much of a non-game it is, and the lack of recognizable characters to promote it. |

Alls I know was the preview for that game in Nintendo Power was fascinating to me -- after Mario Paint, I was definitely interested in getting a similar game that would use the mouse. |

I remember being told by a Nintendo rep (back when they would answer news questions on their customer service line) that this game was going to have the SNES mouse as a pack-in. Sounds like they were hoping Sound Fantasy would have the same appeal as Mario Paint at one point.
Funny how there were more games that used the mouse than the Super Scope Six's library (and were usually a lot more fun)... |

There's not a whole lot you can do with a gun, compared to a mouse. |

I'm sure there's a metaphor about turning swords into ploughshares in here too. |

Yeah. If you turn your swords into plowshares, someone is going to beat you to death with a mouse. |

A collector called Steven Jacobs, somehow found a proto of this.

Only time will tell if this ever gets leaked to the public, but at least a copy not locked up in Nintendo's vault is out there. |

That guy also had a neat Nintendo flash cart. Too bad flash memory from the 90s is really bad, and it is likely that it is corrupt. |

Great to see, though this is definitely an earlier prototype.
I recall seeing pictures of a fourth game, an Arkanoid-type game.
Though I think the SNES Central article is incorrect, it was probably planned for release more like 1994, as I think that was about when we last heard of it in magazines. |

I didn't write the article on SNES Central (TRM did) and I am aware that there are mistakes in it. I will try to update it as soon as possible.
Edit: I updated the page with a new article written by me.
