Hey, y'all.

So the first thing I decided to do w/my nifty new USB3HDCAP gizmo was to record some vids from my s-video modded Super A'can. Since all the existing A'can vids are either recorded from crap composite or extremely preliminary emulation, I figured that sharing some higher quality stuff would... like... be pretty cool, or something.

If you'd like to take a gander, here's what I've got posted online thus far...

More to come. Later. Perhaps. Anyway, hope you dig 'em.

Very cool! Cool This is the first time I've seen A'can games in action.

Thanks for posting these!

Sure, you're welcome. I'm glad you dig 'em.

Yesterday I added 14 new videos, mostly from "Son of Evil" : all eleven bosses + the final boss & ending, and the in-game virtual tour of the Funtech offices.

Hey, thanks for sharing these! Might come in handy to anyone trying to improve MAME's driver.

I've noticed that some things that should move smoothly such as the scrolling level numbers in Boomzoo move in a kind of jerkily manner, perhaps something's not correctly configured in your capture setup?

Sure, you're welcome.

I doubt anyone'll be able to "perfect" the driver until the custom UMC chips are reverse-engineered, but I s'pose some minor improvements could be made in the interim.

Believe it or not the scrolling level numbers in Boomzoo are programmed jerky, that's not introduced by the recordings. Similar "Wow they actually released it like this?" moments can be seen in Sango Fighter's opening text crawl (and the game as a whole, yikes!), among others.

I've recently added some videos from Dragon Force, including the ending.
