Alright y'all, I just got my Famicom and FDS and I need some game suggestions. I'm off to a good start with SMB2J and Yumekojo Doki Doki Panic , but I'd like to hear of some other stuff, too. Preferably some more obscure things that don't require a lot of knowledge of Japanese. Boy did Policenauts teach me that lesson.

Nazo no Murasamejou
Zelda II (Has a few differences from the US version, and it's easier to level up.)
Meikyu Jiin Dababa - Decent enough Konami game, though I can't figure out how to reach the exit of area 2-0. Anybody here play this and happen to know how to finish that level? Figure it couldn't hurt to ask.

That's good to hear. Levelling took forever in the US release. Any other remarkable differences?

Is this the same as Red Fortress? I've heard that cited as the Famicom Jackal too.

You're much better off with the plain ol' American version of Jackal. The FDS version is limited.

Though the FDS version came long before the NES version, and I believe that the levels were shorter to avoid needing mid-level loading time. Or so I've heard...

Yes, the full title is: Final Commando Akai Yousai.
Akai Yousai means "red fortress".
