I think all these people calling GTA the "best game EVAR omg" should be shoved into Acclaim's coffin and buried in the desert with all those E.T. carts.

Just my humble opinion.

Maybe if said Acclaim's coffin was filled with Acclaim and LJN games, then deffinately.

Revolutionary? Yes. Ballsy? Yes. Fun? For a while, yes.

Buggy? God yes. Properly coded? Barely. Best game ever? Not by a bloody long shot.

San Andreas is probably the only game I've played to capture my interests all year... maybe... and as much credit as I give Rockstar for pushing the envelope on how games are produced, I despise them just as much for going so halfass on coding. It's amazing how many walls I've fell through. Isn't that right, eternally falling CJ?

But MUCH Kudos to this homebrew project...

After I got to the second island in San Andreas, I got the thursday night snack syndrome. It's when you think to yourself "man, I'm kind of hungry. I think I'll go to Arby's." But then you say "but, god, I don't want to get in the car and drive all the way out to Five Mile just to get some jalapeno bites." Same thing with the missions. If my save point is way the hell over in another town, and I've just finished an easy mission, maybe I just won't save my game this time.

But that's a good NES port. A lot of time obviously went into that.
