My buddy wants me to go see it with him, but I'm not sure. What is great about it? |

Do you like Quentin Tarantino movies?
Do you like spaghetti westerns?
Do you like Japanese samurai dramas?
Do you like Hong Kong wire action movies?
Do you like 70s exploitation films?
Do you like ultra-violent anime?
Do you like Uma?
Do you like ultra violence in general?
The more of those you said "yes" to, the more you will enjoy Kill Bill. It's scientifically proven. |

My test results:
Do you like Quentin Tarantino movies?
Yes
Do you like spaghetti westerns?
No
Do you like Japanese samurai dramas?
Yes
Do you like Hong Kong wire action movies?
Some (halfway between yes/no)
Do you like 70s exploitation films?
Some
Do you like ultra-violent anime?
No
Do you like Uma?
Yes
Do you like ultra violence in general?
No
As you see, I scored a 4/8, meaning that my enjoyment of Kill Bill was half the potential it could have been. And if half the potential still equates to "awesome" then the appeal for this movie can still be considered quite broad.
Edit - one must also consider outliers such as "extremely" liking or disliking one of the above questions. This can result in extra points or negative points. It is possible to score over an 8/8, which if that proved to be the case, you probably orgasm to 8x10 autographed Tarantino glossies. Please be sure to keep these factors in consideration when evaluating Kill Bill. |

Saw Kill Bill. It was very good. Plenty of action and violence, so if you like those two things in a movie, then go see it.
Looking forward to vol 2. |

I went to see this one a few weeks ago... I wasn't totally sure what to expect at first but then I went to see it, there was definetly a lot of Japanese/anime influences in there, along with the wire-fu and ultra-violence... previously one of my other favorite movies was the Japanese cult classic Battle Royale (IMDB info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266308/ )

Did you realize that Chiaki Kuriyama was in both Battle Royale and Kill Bill? I DID!
(IMDB info: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0475752/ )
Yeah for me!

Her role in Battle Royale probably explains why Tarantino grabbed her for Kill Bill.
She's kind of weird looking, in a cute sort of way. |

You know I remember hearing some comparisons being drawn between BR and Kill Bill, like having some of the same people involved, and the whole Japanese feel... stuff like that.
I think I remember seeing something about one of the BR actors being in that movie, but I didn't really read it because it was before I saw Kill Bill... (that's cool though)
Incidentally I heard the DVD's out Feb. 2004
