This game was originally schedueled for released on the N64. Delayed numerous times, and because of the N64's short life span (compared to PSX anyways...) it was never released - or was it? While it had been announced as a GameCube/Dolphin title back in early 2000, it was not until 2003 that the game would be released as Rogue Ops. Yep, that's it: ROGUE OPS (which, BTW, was multi-platform).

Just thought you oughtta know.

The point of the thread is that the "unreleased" game "RIQA" (which I've never heard of) was retooled and eventually released as Rogue OPS.

Yes, RIQA was remade as Rogue Ops, they even mentioned it in an interview with the developers.

Is "RIQA" an acronym for something? I still have no idea what that is.

Rhode Island Qalqilya Alliance!

Honestly, it was probably a character codename or something.

I'm not too sure that Rogue Ops really did bring anything in from RIQA besides a design concept here and there....

Meanwhile, I've seriously got to get back to work on my project. Someone has to to remember stuff like Strident.

Strident sure was a neat looking game, based on what was shown in the trailer and screens at least. It'll probably end up in some collectors hands or possibly on the net in the not so distant future. Phantagram is one of the worst companies at keeping alphas and betas from leaking out.

I know someone who could obtain Strident easily, but I'm not saying who (he'll release it, just not so suddenly.)

So it's definite that the game will never come out?

I remember RIQA, I was disappointed that it never came out. I remember seeing early screenshots of it, it had kind of a Tomb Raider-esque quality to it. I believe the original heroine was a brunette, in fact, in comparison to the fairer-haired heroine of Rogue Ops.

Nice to know it was eventually released, although I'm sure it underwent a lot of changes during the transition...
