At first glance, I underestimated Congo. After playing it once and habitually picking-out all the negative aspects of the game for 2 minutes, and playing a "more fun" game... I decided to give the game another chance.
I was vocally "Wow"wed by the rafting level's gameplay. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that there were only 3 lives, but obtaining extra-lives was easy if secret paths in the rapids were followed. Usually hidden paths are marked out by a star-studded outline of a bull's-eye. If hit head on at the center star, usually all of the diamonds within the secret path will be collected without the touch of the directional-pad. Very clever programming.
As of yet I have only gotten to one of the very last checkpoints, but am determined to beat the game without the use of cheating or savestates.
If you read this forum, Greg, I would like to say that your game was still better than most of the "good" games that got mass-produced and sold onto cartridges! It was sad that you never got a chance to make more videogames after Visual Concepts. |

I honestly don't know this forums policy on rom requests, so if I'm doing anything out of line, please delete my post.
Anyways, I was wondering where I could download this game. I've been looking for it all over the internet with little luck. Any help would be appreciated. |

Complete laziness incurred. No direct link.
You can find it somewhere off http://www.nesworld.com tho |

I had already found that link but thanks for the effort. When you click on the download, it informs you that the file is no longer available, followed by "I'm sure you'll find it elsewhere, if not, then ask around ;)", which is quite ironic since it's the only site that I've found the game at with a download link. |

I was unaware this game had even been dumped in the first place. Neat. |

I believe the person who gave it to him requested it be dumped and made available for download, which it looks like he is now not doing. Huzzah. |

Damn, I never knew a rom based off of a shitty movie/shitty book on killer albino gorillas would be so hard to find. Evan G from SNES Central says he has it but he'll only trade it for cart scans or something else. |

I knew of Nesworld's breaking story about it a few weeks after the site shut down, I just wasn't aware of a romh floating around out there. |

Here's the rom, for those of you that missed it when it was on nesworld. It'll probably be there for a while, unless Lycos terminate the account or something. |

If lycos takes it down, it'll be up on System Failure sooner rather than later... in a fashon that some may take offense to, but martin needs to be blasted over this one. |

Blackjax, I totally agree with you on this one. I'm actualy a member of NES World's forums, and I had no clue the romh was even gone. I guess no newbies have tried to grab it or else somebody would have bitched on the forums. Believe me, they would. Somebody always bitches on the forums when things are amiss. ;)
I guess Martin (being an asshole) decided that if nobody's going to download, it shouldn't take up 1 whole precious megabyte of server space.
Bleh, whatever. Can't wait to see what your going to do with it on System Failure, though. (Also can't wait to see Martin freak over this) :evil laugh:

[EDIT] Should take up space? More like should not. Damn my typing! |

Thanks for the link pentarou. After playing the game for 15 minutes I've come to a verdict :
This game blows harder than a chinese whore. That merp guy must have picked up his crack pipe after playing it for the first two minutes (hence his "more fun" game quote :p ) because it sure as hell doesn't get any better.
Anyways, thanks to everyone for the help and keep away from this stank shitloaf of a game. |

Baaaah, it's not that bad. I mean, it's bad, but you need to realize it was probably canned because it wasn't that good. But isn't that what we're all here for? =] |
