I'd rather you not repost the Batman proto with the movie cutscenes. The copy I had up was an overdump, and there's no need to spread that bad copy around. If I'd caught it sooner, I wouldn't have posted it in the first place, but I didn't notice until I'd already put it up.

kevtris is looking at the cartridge now. As soon as he sends me a good copy, I'll post it.

Sure thing. If anyone needs the other batman proto you can find it on the dbz.icequake.net mirror of the old sites.

Which one? The one with the movie cutscenes or the one where the 2nd player controller skips the levels? I think I have both (need to look though).

The test build, with the controller skip. I have every other version. Thanks!

Not that one, but thanks anyway. I really want to see the comic cutscenes.

The one you're talking about is the one that needs a redump. Like I said, I'll post a good copy as soon as I get it.

Here's the redump of that Batman prototype, courtesy of kevtris. Those of you who still have a copy of the bad dump, I encourage you to delete it and replace it with this version.

Didn't want to make a new thread for boring old PAL roms so here goes.. I dumped some PAL roms that are apparently unavailable right now. Maybe they could be of some use to European Power Pak owners. Let me know what's different in the U.A.C proto, if anything. Here's what's inside:

Ultimate Air Combat (E) (Prototype)
Star Trek 25th Anniversary (G)
F-15 Strike Eagle (E) (Scn)
Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (E)
Yoshi's Cookie (E)
Kirby's Adventure (Ef)

Hey, Tootai!

Sorry I never got around to posting that UAC proto for you. I hadn't forgotten, it's just that Nintendo stuff has to take a backseat sometimes in favor of work and social life.

So, what would the difference between the old batman beta and the perfect dump be? A smaller file size don't seem like a big deal.

U.A.C. proto has the following differences:

(As compared to the US version, I don't have a copy of the PAL version if there ever was one)

Splash screen in US says "...Nintendo of America Inc." - proto just says "...Nintendo"

The option to play in French and German in the Proto are not in the US version (for obvious reasons)

There is a graphical glitch toward the bottom of the screen while in first person flight mode in the prototype.

There may be more but I only played the "Powder Keg" stage to completion, and that's all I noticed. I didn't do any hardcore comparisons to the actual data though.

No problem Skrybe, I just thought i'd include it here along with the other PAL roms. You could still host it though if you want to, I don't think these Rapidshare links last forever.

From a playability standpoint, no, but from a purely preservationist standpoint, yes. It also would've ended up as yet another useless entry in the GoodNES database. We generally like to keep that from happening.

Updated with a very nice Double Dragon proto.

Tootai, I mirrored all the PAL roms you've dumped on the old releases page. I noticed the links you posted at No-Intro, what's the deal with the "Hidden Content"? Did one of the mods do that?

They often do that to make people use the Thanks feature in the forums, which I guess is to prevent leeching or data mining or something.
