What was everyones thoughts on this when they first heard about it?
Or their thoughts on it now.
The originals were legendary, I loved them.
But, the new planned version looked as if it would feel really different.
Still, vectorman is vectorman, and it might've been fun just to revist the character see how the old elements of the games were reimagined.
Plus, sega usually does a pretty good job with their titles.
I would've been interested in it and I'm kind of disappointed it was canned.
Edit: after reading this hands-on ign article
I'm even more disappointed. With the 'supposed' greatness of the title what went wrong??
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/401/401231p1.html
The only cancellation story I find is the comment given by a sega rep in the last ign article on the game.
"On the subject of Vectorman, however, the rep had quite a different story: "As for the other game, Sega has decided not to continue with the Vectorman project at this time." |

I remember hearing the opposite. That the game woulda sucked. Plus that guy don't look like Vectorman. But then again, a lot of people thought the new Metroids would suck too. So you never know. |

Not in the last 5 years or so, no. I mean, hell, they even fucked up Phantasy Star Universe, one of the only great games to leave Sega in a long while, with their update system (release things a month and a half apart? Check. Make sure not that much content is added with each update? Check.). |

Well according to ign the title was pretty solid and the article makes a huge deal outta the original.
Plus, it was developed being developed by a company with very little to do specifically with sega
"Pseudo Interactive is a games developer company which is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was started in 1995 by David Wu, Rich Hilmer and Daniel Posner. As of 2006, the company now has over fifty employees."
"About a year ago, Pseudo Interactive came to Sega with a prototype of a new Vectorman," "We had been thinking about a remake, "
So obviously they had minimal ties. |

Well, I don't like Cel Damage or Full Auto either, and that's all Pseudo's really done! |

I dunno what IGN was smoking but I heard Vectorman was canceled because "it didn't meet Sega's quality standards"... which, looking at their wonderful sonic games, frightens me |

I don't recall, idle conversation with someone. Wouldn't take it as gospel. Sounds a bit more reasonable then the gameplay being as awesome as IGN says just to be canceled for no reason. |
