Hi there,

I was browsing on you tube and recently found those short clips of Super Mario Bros anime. Some guy who post some comment on the same page. Says that it was released on July 20, 1986 and there was a 60-minute movie.

Atleast for me it feels better that those hideous Rockman & Ganbare Goemon anime.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzMKxdSI7lk&mode=related&search=

you can find the rest of the clips via the same page. duh

Yeah, my pal Shmorky is always willing to pay good money for that tape when it pops up for sale somewhere, so let me know if you ever see it.

They really should upload the whole movie to the internet. Then perhaps someone can add some subtitles also.

You have to use the Famicom Titler to sub it...

I think that would qualify as "higher art" if you did.

Ok good, my account is still here. *hasn't logged on in ages.*

Anywho. I just uploaded the entire movie onto youtube. Though I apologize for not posting this sooner, if Lostlevels wants, I can send you guys the original avi file I have of this.

In the mean time, this will do:

Everybody does. Can you share it through emule or upload it somewhere, please? (Shame about the lame watermark, though)

EDIT: Funny how there's some goombas (Kuribos) coming out of a boot just like in SMB3... Wasn't this movie made way before it? I wonder if that's some kind of cultural reference rather than Nintendo's, just like the Tanuki stuff.

Oh wow. After all the trouble people have gone through to try and get ahold of this thing I never would've thought it would just show up like this all of a sudden. Good job!

Any fansubbers in the house?

I've actually had this for quite some time. According to my "Last Modified", I've had it since October 26th, 2005...

Anyone, I'm a fansubber around here, but I've been trying to get a team to sub it for some time. While I did have some people to help me, I would have done most of the work. I really didn't want to do this... (There's one person who wanted to do this, but I don't quite trust him, due to past history.)

Haha, you know, it's kinda funny: the link to this mario anime was posted in irc a few days ago, and I searched viciously for the source avi's. =)

ChibiGoku, what's up? I think I remember you, from somewhere long ago, hehe. Anyway, regarding fansubs, if someone wants to start a project, I'd love to help with translation. I'll admit, I'm not fluent and translation by listening isn't my strong point, but I'll do what I can; from what I watched, it didn't seem like too difficult Japanese. It'd be great to see this subbed.

If anybody is up for doing the translation, I can handle the technical side. I've subbed lots of stuff. Just as long as people are not expecting karaoke subs or such. Only thing is that it would have to happen soon, as I leave to be an exchange student in Japan for a year at the end of this month. My anime Japanese isn't quite good enough to do the translation on my own, though.
