Im sure this is likely old news by now but I just thought it interesting that this months issue of retro gamer has a plug for Lost levels in a box out on its feature on the nes. It goes on for a bit about how unreleased games pop on the internet before saying
"Frank Cifaldi's lost levels is one such repository of unreleased games, making available titles like California Raisins (the beta cartridge of which sold for around $1000), Sunman and also the uncensored version of maniac mansion"
There is also another brief mention of Mr. Cifaldi on the letters page from some guy called "dave" who claims to have sold him a prototype cartridge recently.
Ok so nothing essentially exciting, but just thought I'd let regular forum people who don't have access to the magazine know.
Also i didnt know there was an uncensored nes version of maniac mansion? Im guessing its identical to the pc version? |

He just briefly mentioned that ebay were giving him problems with selling prototype cartridge sales and that you won one of his e-mail auctions.
"i was swamped with e-mail bids straight away- with the winner being a Frank Cifaldi from Las Vegas (who you mentioned in your excellent gaming illuminati article).
He then had a little whine about how some of his email bidders had been fairly aggressive so Retro gamer then advised that he head to the assembler forums for advice on how to sell the games or whatever.
If you like i can type out the whole letter and response but thats basically what it said in a nutshell. |

Maybe that guy from a few years ago that we bought that big lot from? The guy you chatted with about Gimmick. |

I sure hope they've gotten over that increasing hostility and malevolence! |

I think the only link to uncensored Maniac Mansion on these forums is inactive, so here's a copy. |
