Hello there. First post on here, but have been reading the posts since I stumbled onto the sight last October, and I have a question for all of you.
Being a rather avid 007 fan and collector, I am in search of the unreleased NES game Licence To Kill. I'd really like to add this little gem to my collection, in any format I can get my hands on.
Tengen was to release a game based on the 1989 007 film starring Timothy Dalton for the NES, being most likely a conversion of Domark's game which was available on Amiga, PC, Spectrum and C64 among others. From doing a bit of research, I've been able to find out that Simon Nicol from Tengen completed the game, but it went unreleased as Domark felt that too much time had passed since the completion of the game and its release on other formats. So, that would make on think that it should be out there, somewhere.
If you visit http://www.planetnintendo.com/thewarpzone/tengen.html you can view the box artwork on the right hand side of the page, just under Fantasy Zone.
That is all I have been able to find out about this game. The reason for Domark not releasing the game seems pretty flimsy as their very next 007 games was The Spy Who Loved Me, a game for a movie that had come out 13 years before the game did...
Does anyone know anything more? Does anyone have a copy? Has anyone even seen a copy?
What about the Octopussy game for the 2600 while we're on the subject of unreleased 007 games?
Well there you have it. Any new information would be appreciated. |

I don't think Licence to Kill has ever surfaced, I personally don't know of anyone who owns a copy. If you haven't already seen it, this is the only screenshot that's been found of the game. |

I somewhat dimly remember playing a james bond game on the sega megadrive/genesis. I'm not sure what the title was, all i remember is it was a side-scroller. |

Your thinking of James Bond - The Duel.
I almost got this one time when I was a kid because I thought it would be like the N64 one. |

It is the same game as the computer versions. No real point in waiting it out if there is not prototype available. These things don't pop up over night. |

Judging by that site, they pop up once every 6 months... |

According to my sources there are 14 copies of this cart, in 3 different levels of production. 1 of which is a completed version, or a review copy. There are a lot of noticable changes to the graphics and dialog from the computer counterparts, and several gameplay changes including the omission of several levels, and the addition of 2 new levels.
See how easy that was? Anybody can say things on the internet! |

I meant a proto dump isn't available. There are surely proto cartridges in existance but nobody has access to them.

You actually want to buy it or just play it? |

He can't have both?
Anyway, I guess this one might be something to chase after if it got anywhere near complete.
I've been way to generous economically lately on random crap that's either way too incomplete to even be called a game or just review prints of final code with tester cheats enabled. |

From what I've heard the game was finished, but who knows how reliable that information is.
I'd settle for just playing the game, but I actually would like to buy it... |

That cover is pretty cool. Was Tengen the company planning on releasing this or did you just pick that for the nes box? |

Hey, thanks.
Tengen was the company who was going to release the game. If you go to http://www.planetnintendo.com/thewarpzone/tengen.html you can see a very small image of the game box. That's what I used as reference for the pic. |
