i've posted about this on several sites with skepticism.
i did end up getting the disc confirmed as a legit GMR.
i bought a dreamcast game from a local gamestop.
the game i thought i was buying was miday arcade hits volume 1.
it turned out to be marvel vs capcom 2 when i started it up. i was wondering if there were any other games this has happened with.
i already know of the strider 1 + 2 for ps1 disc swap mistake.

Not really a wrong disc, but I have a Resident Evil - Director's Cut (another Capcom game!) that has what most of all looks like an incomplete label art print.

It does happen, but it's insanely rare these days.

The packaging companies use barcode readers to check the tiny barcode on the inside of the spindle hole. Every disc is checked to prevent contamination.

I've never seen a misprint game but I did run into a misprint album once. I had a customer that had bought a copy of AC/DC's "Back In Black," except the actual audio was... well, none of us could identify it as anything other than "not AC/DC." It was some folksy acoustic thing.

Interesting... I bought a copy of Blade Runner: Director's Cut years ago from Wal-Mart, and it had Soldier on the disc instead.

I seem to remember that my Fry's got a run of Greatest Hits edition copies of SOTN that actually booted Elmo's Number Journey.
