Is there a good dump available anywhere of Fester's Quest?
It seems the crash when you enter the first house is from the fact that it's a bad dump |

GoodNES 3.10 contains a (supposedly) verified good dump of Fester's Quest. I loaded it up in FCEU and could enter the first house just fine. |

I never could understand why Sunsoft made this an Addams Family game instead of Blaster Master 2 or something. |

Pretty funny review, but so true.

I always thought that Fester's Quest was made BEFORE Blaster Master. The share many of the same elements, but so many things in Fester's Quest are done incorrectly that the game seems non-functional at times. On the other hand Blaster Master gets everything right and is a fantastic game (although somewhat underrated it seems). |

Naw, Fester's Quest came out about a year after Blaster Master. |

I too am a huge Blaster Master fan. Fester's Quest is an entirely different game that's a whole lot less fun. |

True story. When I was about 10 years old someone broke into my house and stole all of my Nintendo games (a sizable collection for a kid) except Festers Quest. It was sitting next to the Nintendo, right where I had left it, so it's not like they dropped it on the way out. They specifically did not take Festers Quest. |

That reminds me of a guy I used to know who had his car broken into a few years back. Thieves took all of his CDs...except his Skid Row CD. |

The Blaster Master book was awesome. Didn't Sunsoft eventually make it cannon? |

i have to admit, I loved this game. The only big problem I had with it was the insane difficulty caused by the abundance of power-downs for your weapons. If you were in the sewers with your gun at full power, one power down could seriously screw you over. |

I think this game would've been drastically better if Fester had actually controlled more like the overhead parts of Blaster Master, with strafing and diagonal movement. The developers may have thought it would've made the game too easy, but it certainly would've been more enjoyable.
On another note, it really irritated me when they took out diagonal movement on the overhead sections in Blaster Master: Enemy Below. |

That happened to me, except it was The Breeders. I guess your friend wins. |

Fester's Quest in one of my favorite Sunsoft games next to Blaster Master. I got the game back in the days when I traded it for Gumshoe and the guy didn't like Fester's Quest at all.
Whoever here looks into the ROM Hacking scene, there's an editor that's being made for this game. Link. |
