I've been doing a bunch of research about the Atari Lynx and its sound hardware. I'd like to make a simple MML-based sound engine for the Mikey (like HSFX's), but if I can just get HandyASM and HSFX for the Amiga, I'd prefer that.

I may be entirely ignorant on the subject, but how available is this devkit?

It seems to be hoarded by select individuals.

http://www.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffadest.free.fr%2Fspip%2Farticle.php%3Fid_article%3D4&langpair=fr%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8 ... But I also wonder if it's in the "private area" of that site.

Anyway... Any information?

Jesus christ, are you seriously going to use the word "hoarded" for an Atari Lynx devkit?

I'm going to go hoard my lunch.

I didn't want any of your lunch anyway, thank you. Razz It's probably just a stupid peanut butter and jelly sandwich anyway.

I've contacted someone who has one and will make it more readily available if I get it.

I prefer kraut-rock myself, though.

*Hopes this doesn't turn into a Mark Wahlberg thread.*

I don't get why everybody loves Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch for the SegaCD when Make My Video: Kris Kross is clearly the superior game.

If you can't get a copy, post back here. I may still have the software on a backup DVD somewhere, and if not, i might be able to get it anyway.

I'll probably be a few months before i can go digging though...

Hey, man. I really appreciate that. If you could, that'd be swell. I've got a lot of chips to play with right now, but programming the Mikey's sound would be really revolutionary. I don't think there have been more than a few developer kiddos that have made games and music.

My goal is to mainstream another chip to the music scene. Hopefully we can cover some more musical ground -- especially since I've researched that the Lynx would be a super easy system to dev to hardware. This means that music kids could easily go on stage with Lynxs like they do with Gameboys.

I'd love to have it, but I'm not in a rush. I'll try to do some documentation for it from my own composing experience when or if I get it working. I sorta hate setting up WinAUE.

Does anyone have ever seen or own one of those dev Lynxes that connect to a TV? I want one, dammit. I will give you exactly 100 Marky Mark Sega CDs for one and/or make you peanut butter and jelly and kraut/kielbasa sandwiches for life, or a week, whichever comes first.

Awesomeness.

I got offered a free Amiga 800 and an Amiga 3000 today. Ace, if you're up for digging through those DVDs with some of your free time, I'll be looking forward to checking out that stuff on a real Amiga. Smile

Amiga 800? Are you sure you don't mean 500 or 600? I don't remember an 800.

I own a 3000 myself but haven't used it in a while because for some reason it's fast RAM doesn't show up to the system. If I were you first thing I'd do on the 3000 is take the case off and check the battery, make sure it's not leaked. If it has, clip it off the motherboard and replace it with a new one.

I mean the 500 -_-;... I said "800" 3 times that day. Yeah... Well, he's going to be at a business expo in Florida for 2 weeks, so I guess this can wait a little while too.

All I need now is a Commie. Tracking SIDs is pretty rad in Goat, but I'm pretty sure it will be much better tracking them on the real thing like Goto80.

Regarding the 3000, thanks for the insight. I'll be sure to do that.
