Havn't seen this posted yet, so I figured I'd spread the news here. You're probably thinking this is an April Fool's joke, which is what I initially thought as well, but with all the activity at the AtariAge forums, I'm completely sure it isn't. Downloads are available in the Atari Age thread, link below (you have to be registered and logged in, however.)
Sirius is a side-scrolling shooter in the vain of R-Type and Gradius. Considering this is the 7800, this is a jaw-dropping find.
Plutos is a vertically scrolling shooter. Not as ambitious as Sirius, it seems, but still amazing.
Rampart doesn't look very complete at all.

I don't have my account for AtariAge anymore, haven't posted there since 2002. Can someone get different links to the new rom images and repost here? |

Sure thing. Here you go.

I unzipped the files and rezipped them in one archive. The files are unchanged, I only removed the MACOSX folder because it was giving me problems for some reason. |

Sorry for the late bump.
I played, er, tried to play Sirius. It's hard as fuck. Whoever designed this game did their best to emulate the shooters coming out of Japan, that's for sure. There's also some faked-up parallax in this game, which is pretty awesome. There's no music, maaaaybe the programmers were holding out hoping to get a pokey chip added on the cart? We may never know. |

If someone probed the code think maybe some evidence of this pokey theory may be found? Perhaps one could load this onto a pokey cart and find out even quicker.
