Old thread, I know, but anyway... the dump does appear to be an incomplete one. I can't find a reference to Meduoer anywhere in it even if I use relative search... unless they compressed the text somehow, possibly.

However, I did make an interesting discovery by inspecting the ROM with a tile editor... namely, the identity of the company responsible for this game.

I'd had some suspicions based on some unlicensed GBC games I'd come across with similar music, but this flat-out proves it.

See the little logo with three diamonds with 'VF' written in it? That's the trademark of an apparently defunct Taiwanese unlicensed game developer named "Vast Fame" (or, in Chinese, 廣譽 Guang Yu). Although their web site no longer exists, parts of it are still out there on the Wayback Machine (for example, here).

He looks like Beavis in his pitch, but Rich Hall in his mug shots.

I found this post on GBATemp today - old one but seems worth a shot?

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=5c66312eb279eca60624f37386c134c1&showtopic=68174&st=0&p=892609&#entry892609

forget about the 3in1 business, launch GBALDR while holding the R button and a GBA dumping menu should pop up.

apparantly it works well, however it wil always dump to 32 megabytes (it doesn't detect the proper size) so they shuold be trimmed afterwards. also make sure you have enough room on your R4, so there is no corruption.

worth a shot if you ask me - and if you still have the M3, Boco...

I have this game and am attempting to dump it (using a DS with an M3 Simply) but am not having much success. The dump clearly has part of the game data since if I open it in a tile viewer some data from the opening sequence is visible. But it won't play in any emulator and I doubt the whole game is present.

Here is what I got when I tried to dump it.

Some images of the game's intro:

And of course some gameplay images:

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t133/Boco_XLVII/crystal/Nov17_014.jpg
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t133/Boco_XLVII/crystal/Nov17_016.jpg

There's text in the game too. Searching for it might reveal whether the dump is missing data (as I suspect) or not.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

GBALDR - older version:

http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=10977

GBALDR - newest version

http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=4810

not sure which one is used in the example so try both...

Thanks Boco, you'd be the friggin best if you get this done!

It's from Pulseman. Crazy pirates Very Happy I hope a dump shows up soon. Somehow pirates do a better job than shitty fan games even if it still is shitty in itself.

I tried to dump it again with a CycloDS at Rockmaniac's insistence, but with the same result. Here's the misdump.

Any ideas, advice, etc would be appreciated! The game works fine on a real GBA, on a DS, on a GameBoy Player, etc, it just won't dump to a slot-1 card, apparently.
