A guy in another forum I go to somehow got a cart that looks like a proto, I told him to post here, so maybe he shows up. At least he put up some pics.

http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=13093

Someone on the thread also said it was released as Aigiina no Yogen: Balubalouk no Densetsu Yori in japan.

Someone else also said that it got a C64 release under the same name and found an announcement in nesworld

That would be an easy cart to dump, I could definitely do it. I'll send the guy a message and see if he's up for it.

Hopefully I'll be buying this game and dumping it myself. I just hope he doesn't back out on the deal.

Cool man. If not I hope he or the new owner will at least snap photos of the changes.

I got the cart today and luckily I didn't have to pay as much for it as DreamTR charges for his dumps.

Congrats on scoring this proto Tootai. I wonder how far along the translation is? That new title screen also looks nice.

In any case it shouldn't be too difficult to play through this one. Somebody over at StrategyWiki actually wrote a complete guide/walkthrough for this game. (Well the Famicom version obviously.)

the intro text appears to be missing, going from the video - whether thats because its incomplete or they were just planning to cut that for the US release anyway, i dunno.

I've only played a few levels so far, but the people i've met in the game seem to be talking english. This old lady claimed to be able to translate old texts, but when I brought her a stone tablet she just said she doesn't understand it, and asked if she could have it anyway. Then I was out some gold and a stone tablet. What the hell?

I think I need to brush up on my NES skills. It's been a while since i've completed an NES game that wasn't Chip & Dale.

I'm with Ichiban Crush: Vic Tokai stuff is inherently awesome.

In both the FC and C64 version, if you enter an incorrect password, the character on the screen gets increasingly pissed with each wrong password you try. Have you seen what happens in your proto?

Hahah, I TAKE A DEFIANT ATTITUDE TOWARD YOU, and he faces the screen with sunglasses and a comb. Great stuff.

Does anyone have any passwords that might work?

No passwords that I could find, but there is a FAQ here:

I look forward to the day when someone will turn up a prototype of Francesca's Wand, with the weird title screen and everything.

That strategywiki I posted above has two passwords. I guess you could try those.

TIZFY26 MTYZ6QKF - All five sacred treasures are obtained.
6VMWCSR UE5GKLMP - All five Aura Star pieces are assembled.
