Hi all,

Does anyone remember the above titled game? Interplay canned in 1998/1999 Sad . However it had been in development for years, there are some nice trailers floating around on the net
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDKfX5Hwuoc

They are all very promising. If you look hard enough you can find some in game screen shots. The game was deep into development, from what I have been told there are some playable versions around Exclamation .

I always was a big fan of Star trek "point and click" games 25th anniversary, Judgment Rites, A Final Unity. I really wish this game was finished

The guy who bought out interplay's equipment has the source for the game. He was selling it for $5,000 last time i saw. Unfortunately he scammed a few dozen people out of about $20,000 and disappeared. Goes by the name Gavroche. Wouldn't trust the guy as far as i can throw him.

Hearing James Doohan sounding very old makes me sad. Because now he's dead.

Even though there is one, you won't have any luck finding it on the net.

No, but after finding out Sylar from "Heroes" is playing Spock, I was hoping for hot sylar action in this thread.

You can believe whatever you want, but i know of two people who have the original source code to the game (along with the entire source code vault from interplay)

http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-1925.html

The photos are long gone, but you can tell by the responses that they were as described...

The other owner is here: http://oldengineer.com/gallery/main.php

I warn you that he doesn't generally offer up items without a trade of equal value. And that usually doesn't include money.

See, if he scammed people out of $20,000 and disappeared, I wouldn't believe a single word he said. I met many people in the past who claimed to have the source, but they all failed to prove it. Moreover, unlikely that two people have it. If that guy named "gavroche" bought the "entire remaining assets of interplay", then he would have had the only copy. That said, the game is not mentioned in that thread at all. Not even a word about any source code; all he says there is that he's got assets (assets discs don't have source code included normally, I've got lots of them as well) and some wip builds. On the photo with the Interplay discs -- which has been preserved by archive.org -- you can see that the Interplay discs are not CD-Rs but pressed CDs. Source code is hardly backed up on pressed CDs...

Ok, he's probably way more reliable than the other guy. Though I'm not really interested in trading or offering money for it anyway. He might have the source and the assets, but he's not holding the rights to the game. It would be an illegal deal which I'm not interested in. Having the E3 demo is enough, I guess.

Again, you can believe whatever you'd like. Interplay did in fact backup their source library onto CD...

Example:

While Gavroche is both a liar and a cheat, i'm 100% certain that he once owned the source code for the entire interplay library. I myself made him prove ownership when i wanted to purchase a copy.

I know i come off as an asshole most of the time, but i really do know what i'm talking about. If you really want to go around finding unreleased games you need to be a bit more open to where things come from...

Trust me, i probably have one of the largest collections of betas and unreleased games in the world.

I know. Very Happy Please read again what I wrote. (Hint: there's a difference between a CD-R and a pressed CD)

The only source for unreleased games that matters to me are the developers themselves. And that worked quite well so far. Smile Problem with private collectors is that they try to make money out of things they don't even legally own. That's not of much interest for me, since I want to make the games legally available on my website.

Hehe, and you still wonder why I don't believe people..? Laughing Being proud of one's collection is one thing, but talking big like that is, well... not really deserving belief. Maybe you have one of the largest collections in the world, but I doubt you can make a qualified guess. No offense meant.
