Ok, so maybe these were not unreleased, but in the west, these games are extremely rare. If you're a SHMUP fan then this adorable little ftp is for you.

I love SHMUPS and the Sharp x68000 was easily, for its day, the best machine for playing true arcade conversions (almost exact copies in many cases). Check out Strider and Daimakaimura even if you don't dig SHMUPS.

What is so wrong with the term "shooter" that folks insist on sounding like they have a speech impediment?

I meant besides you, obviously. Your speech impediment is sexy.

most people consider "shooter" to be the 3D Quake/Doom style nowadays.

Unfortunate, I know.

There's still a bunch of undumped games on the X68000. The biggest ones are:

Direct-X

XX Files R

Deadly Edge

They're all extremely rare doujin titles. None have ever been seen up for sale on YAJ, and information on the internet is basically nonexistent other than the linked videos.

I don't suppose that second game is as much of a loss, at least for emulation.
It's a (probably unauthorized) port of Namco's Numen Athletics.

Lovely game that Deadly Edge. Seems the guy playing it was a developer, and has dumped the disks into .xdf images, for personal use.
And to tease the hell out of me.

Another undumped game: Illumination Laser.

There has been some effort in trying to track down disk images for this game, but nothing has come of it yet.

Interesting enough, I've been doing my "dig for weird videos on NicoNicoDouga" thing and found a whole playlist of Store Demo versions for many retro-PC based games, including the X68000.

I'm not entirely familiar with what's known about and what isn't, though. Can anyone fill me in?

Pretty sweet looking finds! I did find Deadly Edge's faux 'copyright screen' to be funny though. (It never really was released in arcades, I'm assuming... hence 'this is all a lie')

Really good music on that direct X. I didn't know x680000 music could be that good after playing castlevania chronicles with the original music.

Direct X.7z. Has the music in MP3 format and the disk image from the game.

I said I'd rehost it but I'm a bit slow :P
