Hate to throw a long-dead-post off-topic, but I've been ultra-mega-busy.... Making the world safe for scalable graphics... And honestly, I mentally filter out left-side-menus. I had no idea this place had forums.

Prolly my:

-SMB2J for FDS

-Legend of Zelda Famicom cart. Need to replace the battery.

-I can never remember the name of it, but that Japanese River City Ransom GameBoy game that was made into a Double Dragon game in the US

-Megaman 2(?) for Gameboy, Japanese

-Castlevania IV, SFC

-Policenauts, Saturn, boxed edition

-MGS2 E3 demo videotape as well as the Japanese "making of" DVD.

-It's not rare, but I think that it's worth a mention: Rushing Beat for SFC, released in the US as Rival Turf. Considering the buzzardy old men in tigerstripe spandex, pirate, and names like "Dug," Rushing Beat is a more appropriate title.

Some of the stuff's just foreign and not rare in and of itself but still pretty neat. Sadly, I've come across no prototypes but someday I'd like to...

Sadly, my "rarest" stuff consists of:

- A couple of wisdom tree games (I'd like to thank the well-meaning relatives who scarred my childhood with these)
- A "greatest hits" Castlevania: SotN
- A complete (OMGRARE) NES Satellite 4-player infrared thingy.

does a tengen pac-man count as rare?

I've got one, but none of the hookups for him. So he holds my important mail, like bills and stuff.

At one point, I had four blue-cart copies of Bible Adventures. I gave one to my ex-girlfriend as a birthday present, so now I only have three.

you could just play Stack-Up, it's the closest thing to a sequel that Gyromite is going to get ;)

Why play stack-up when an official FC-to-NES cart converter is inside, waiting to get exploited?

Complete NES set con Sachens con NWC.

And the Genesis Blockbuster Competition II Cart. It'd be nice if one of these decided to show up again...

The rarest thing I have is also my only REAL collectible item - my Sonic 3 EPROM cart. It's identical to the final from a visual standpoint, but I don't know if there's any difference in the binary. And I keep it stored well away from any UV light, stored in a solid black case, and of course inside the usual plastic cart, so as to minimize bit rot until I get it dumped (I don't really feel safe sending it through the mail, personally). Other than that, I only have a very few games for both my Genesis and my SNES, and none of them are that rare (I also own a copy of that Sonic Jam 6 pirate that is Sonic in SMB1 with shitty play control).

Thee rarest item in my collection would probably have to be a near mint copy of the PC Engine port of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari (River City Ransom), which cost me around $80 or so to get. In fact, I actually have Naxat Soft's entire catalog of Super CD-ROM ports of Technos games. I'm only missing the HuCard ports of Dodge Ball and Soccer, but I'm not too eager to get them as I don't have an actual PC Engine to play them with.

I might be getting the PC98 version of Policenauts soon, which is a very sought-after version of the game.

I used to have a Star Fox Competition Cartridge, but I stupidly gave it away for a trade-in.

Reverse Somari actually. That is, Sonic in SMB1 not Mario in Sonic the Hedgehog. Sounds cool. Probably much cooler than it actually is.

Wait a sec...

Yeah, it definitely sounds cooler than it actually is.

Yup. For instance, there is NO acceleration. When you press left or right on the dpad, you INSTANTLY start moving at max speed. Not to mention that the controls themselves are horrible, you use different buttons to run and to throw fireballs. Also, sometimes, you can hit an item box and nothing will come out. Also, you don't get points for coins, or for the time left on the timer when you hit the flagpole. Also, due to the way it generates random numbers, when run under most emulators, Lakitu throws out an endless stream of Spinies and locks the game up hard.

Plus, the coin rooms like in 1-1 STILL HAVE MARIO'S FACE IN THE BACKGROUND.

Aw, my gold hologram Majora's Mask cart isn't rare now that I actually check ebay. Darn. Oh well, it doesn't make a big difference to me either rare or common.

I also once had a copy of Skies of Arcadia Legends for the GC.

Stinger? Is that worth bragging about...? I picked it up a while ago, mainly because I needed a game besides Super Dodge Ball that I could use my modified four-score with. I had 3 players working fine in Stinger with a game genie code, but I wound up having 2 Twinbees and a Gwinbee, rather than a Twinbee, a Winbee, and a Gwinbee. Or something.

Also modified my Atari 2600 for A/V out. That's gotta count for something. 8)
