Hey, folks. I found yet another picture book at a Japanese library that details the making of video games, so here's my write-up on it:

"How Video Games are Made: The Making of Dragon Quest VI" (SFC)

If you haven't yet, check out the amazingly awesome first picture book that I found, dealing with the making of Super Mario 3:

Nifty stuff.

There was one little thing I wanted to mention, though. Near the bottom of page 1, I think the game Sugiyama is playing is Mother 2.

OK, thanks. I wasn't sure which game it was.

Yet another lame excuse for me to re-post this "V-jump Special Video" too (Still shopping for dedicated translators for a lot of video content, by the way)

As much of a sewer as that place is, you could always try NeoGAF.

Nice find Chris. Perhaps not as detailed as the Mario 3 one, but it still has a lot of interesting bits.

It also reminded me just how nice the Super Famicom version of Dragon Quest VI still looks. Probably the only DQ game that can actually stand up to its remake in the visual department.

Trying to avoid that place like the plague (as far as registering / posting goes, anyway. Nice hub for information/news, though)

Sorry to bump for a tangential observation.

But we remember Miyamoto smoking in this kid's book.

But... did anyone ever notice the F1 Race box art features a Marlboro car? (maybe not, because I don't think anybody likes F1 Race)
(I mean, it's a hand-drawn image, so it's not like they took a photo of a real race and it just happened to be there.)

MY GOD THEY WERE TRYING TO GET US TO SMOKE!

That Marlboro F-1 car was popular because in 1989-9x, it was Ayrton Senna's car. So, the red & white F-1 racer emblazoned with Marlboro, Shell, and Honda logos was used a LOT for F-1 games at the time.
