.....but since the people here are SMART, and might know such things, I will ask here.....AGAIN SINCE THE INTERNET APPARENTLY ATE MY LAST TOPIC WTF....

Is there any program that can/way to compare two SNES ROMs and find out the differences in content, such as you might do between a beta and a final version?

I mean, I'm not expecting something that can print out a list of the various graphics and text differences, but if there was a utility that let me know, say, an approximate percentage.....knowing whether there was a 0.02% difference or a 80% difference would make it a lot easier for me to make the decision to play through the beta and the final release "side by side".

Well, can anyon help me? :\

You could just use the file compare feature that's in some hex editors like Hex Workshop.

Can't speak for programs on the PC, but on the Macintosh you could use either HexEdit's "Compare Files..." feature or the program called ResCompare

I have a program that is like that for .NES files that I got a while back, but I'm not quite sure who the Author is... I'll see if I can dig up that at least sometime.

Reminds me of when I decided I would try to hack a DDR (arcade) disc so I could add my own songs.
I got ahold of Max2, opened it up, and, umm... don't really know anything about programming... ^_^;
But I think I found the code for the step patterns. *SIGH*

For the graphics you could load the games up in a good sprite editor and simply compare their graphics side-by-side. My only experience using this method is with Nes roms, but I'm assuming it wouldn't be much more difficult for Snes games.
