Neil Gaiman's new Sandman book, Endless Nights, came out a little while ago. I thought it was great. Neil didn't miss a beat, it's like Sandman never ended.

It really, really makes me crave more, though. I almost feel like he should have closed the book somehow, with some sort of satisfactory ending. Unless, of course, he plans to do more, in which case he ended it perfectly.

Anyone else pick this up yet?

Promethea? Are you nuts? Promethea is Alan Moore masturbating onto a piece of paper and everyone else wondering what it's supposed to be. WAY too much weirdass Moore, not enough actual story. Blarg.

I thought Endless Nights had a great ending, with the short Destiny piece. I was kind of wondering what kind of a story you could do with him, and that was the answer. Even if it was very plain, it was very well done.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the ending was BAD. I'm just saying that it leaves me wanting more, whereas something like The Wake made me sigh remorsefully and put it away. I knew it was over.

I just disagree with your wanting more of a close of the book. I thought the last story closed the book very well.

I enjoy Alan Moore's Semi-Metaphorical Adventures Through Metaphysics. That's my right, right? He's a kooky magician, and I find it entertaining. But then, I find AC/DC really entertaining too. What the hell do I know?

I was buying it because I really enjoyed it at first (the Five Swell Guys and Weeping Gorilla are great) (did you notice how there was a group picture of the FSG on the wall in one story, and the female was a guy? explains a lot. Funny too.), but the story really just vanished and turned into Alan Moore Explains Things in Such a Way That Only Ian Cares to Read. I kept buying it purely for the art through like issue eighteen.
