Those "Family Boy" Famiclones on ebay any good?
Got one for like $2.
Mainly just because my NES-JOINT (FC->NES) convertor thing doesn't seem to like my FC games sometimes, especially FF3. It's the weirdest thing. For some reason, using the Game Genie as a "handle" for the cart+convertor. After I pop it in, the game seems to play, except apparently only the A and Start Buttons are recognized. Again, this is the oddest thing. I'd expect snow, or flat-out crashes, but only doing partial controller reads?
Good:
-my god, this clone has to be the lightest, smallest console I ever saw (only about the size of a US NES cart, about the same weight)
(probably just an NES-on-a-chip, cart slot, controller and power connectors)
-free NES->FC adapter.
Bad:
-crappy multicart. All it includes is hacked-up Soccer (was it "Football" to you Europeans, or was it still "Soccer"?), Ninja Hatori-Kun (not the "Tiny Toon" I was expecting), F1-Race (now it's a bike game, and they rearranged the status window), Clu Clu Land (raw sewage edition), Super Arabian (not even beginning to compare it), Defender (I think), as well as whatever that "Dragon" clone of Snake was called.
Not even Battle City, the second most of often copied game?
-takes a bit of pushing/pulling to insert/remove carts.
-the pad almost matches the NES MAX for crappy direction pad.
Though the 9-pin control connector I could've sworn I've seen before, but I can't place it. Think there's a chance any other control pads would work.
-don't know if enhanced sound works. I only have one cart with an enhanced sound mapper (Kaijyu Monogatari) and I can't say whether it uses it.
But, I guess for $2, can't go too wrong.

I got one of those N64 controller Famiclones while I was down in Texas this year. Has the usual crappy built-in games and a Famicom cart slot in the back, as well as a DB9 port for a second controller (included with the console, and looks suspiciously like a first-gen Genesis pad). It seems to work just fine, though the sound is a bit messed up (almost like they swapped the square and triangle channels?), and the cartridge slot has these plastic tabs that press REALLY hard against the cart, probably to prevent it from falling out. It left some nice scratches on my Ninja Jajamaru prototype. =(

Anyway, yours is probably based on the same hardware. I don't know about external sound support (waiting for Sardius to ship it back to me so I can test the rest of my Fami carts), though I would assume it's hooked up.

I just like how shipping is around 25 bucks for them on ebay.
