| I don't think any of you guys are respecting Metal Slug if you're all being like this! Go ahead, hate on 4 just because it didn't feature Eri and Tarma as playable characters, but so what? That doesn't mean it's THAT horrible! Same for Metal Slug XX! Besides, I don't think any of you got this far in Metal Slug XX because for once, you should be happy that you're fighting series' antagonist General Morden as the final boss. You should have seen the boss. Then again, personally I think this whole topic here is one big troll topic, and everyone else here are trolls. Why else has the creator of this topic got banned? |

Remember how in Metal Slug 3 there was a bunch of new stuff? Remember how it had you fighting, like, giant crabs, and those flying bugs, and oh my god, those ALIENS? Remember how the final stage was longer than all of the other stages combined, and how it kept ramping up and getting more intense, and then it ended with you FLYING INTO SPACE and then RIDING A GIANT SEVERED ALIEN HEAD BACK DOWN TO EARTH while you SHOT IT IN THE BRAIN? Holy shit!
So in Metal Slug XX, there's very little that's new. The bosses are unmemorable. The backgrounds are dogshit. Everything else looks like either a traced-over variant of earlier Metal Slug art or a Deviantart recolor. The weapon-changing system is pointless, and wouldn't be necessary in a tighter-designed game. The combo system adds nothing, and clutters up the screen with coins. The characters each have unique abilities, which is cool, but one of them has they ability to take TWO HITS before dying, so why would you ever pick anyone else? It's like, you can either get twice as many lives with each credit, or you can choose somebody else and fire slightly faster, or something.
Oh, and weren't the main bad guys in XX just recolored Morden soldiers? You know, those blue spacemen? Jesus, that's some lazy bullshit. What was the final boss again? I honestly don't remember.
The stage where you parachute downward was kind of interesting, and so was the part where you pilot the giant mech, but they didn't do enough with that kind of stuff. That's all I remember about Metal Slug XX.

I only remember that PlayStationMuseum guy that bumped like 3 million threads with worthless "uh huh" posts. |
