There was an FF1 hack that turned it into FFX. I'm wondering if this was just someone's idea, or did it actually *work*?

From what I understand, it was a hoax. Or rather, a misintepreteation by some page. It was actually just something like "hey, I wonder what FFX would look like on a famicom?" Nothing serious, just speculation.

That's what I thought. After seeing some rather unusual hacks on Romhacking.net, I thought it was actually possible. Oh well.

(Cue dozens of retards wondering about FFX on NES.)

It was a hoax. They had a demo (not a rom, but it's own program), which was basically just an overworld and a cave with an 8-bit version of the Zanarkand theme. They did not make a game nor a hack.

But damn if I wouldn't like to see FF7 in 8 or 16-bit form. It's not even my favorite game, I just want to see it converted as an old gen RPG.

Not to mention most of the shots were clearly fake (font at a much higher resolution than than the rest of the graphics).
Were they intended to be real anyways.
Kinda interesting as "what would it look like" kind of deal.
