Out of pure curiousity, was there ever shown any progress on the official translation for Secret of Mana 2/Seiken Densetsu 3 ?

Constantly, when magazines had articles about Squaresoft's new games, they'd always go on about "but we wont see this one 'cause Ted's busy doing Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana 2" and such + in an interview with Ted the magazine PowerPlayer/Super Play had with him he also talked about project FF Extreme (FFV),
which was accourding to him not supposed to be the final/release title for that game and he also mentions that he was working on Secret of Mana 2.

Was the game ever shown anywhere in English?
Did it have any previews anywhere?



(Note: The interview might've originaly been from somewhere else, most likely Nintendo Power, just that SuperPlay/PowerPlayer used to, atleast in the days it was called "Nintendo Magasinet", borrow a lot of stuff from NintendoPower)
