This is seriously one of the most fun things I've ever played, and I've only just found it inside the last half hour. I haven't even gotten to play a multiplayer game yet. Why the hell hasn't anyone ever told me about this before? Good god.
Super Mario War is badass. Download it now before they get c&d'd into the ground. |

Wow, for a second I thought you were talking about a really old, really cheesy SNES homebrew Buster Bros./Pang knockoff. |

I can conclusively say that the controls on the Xbox build are terrible. I didn't find the OS X build to be bad. All the extra modes really remind me of that second GC Bomberman game that had a fuckton of multiplayer modes.
Buster Bros/Pang, yuck! :) |

I don't know that I've ever posted a thread anywhere that wasn't in Off Topic, heh. Maybe I should move it. |

That's strange, Kap. I rebooted and still no go. Times like this makes me miss classic 9 and Conflict Catcher.
I'll keep plugging.
Meantime, i found this:
http://olofson.net/kobodl/
Looks like a nifty shooter. But once entering the name is done, I just can't get it to run.
README for OSX says this
you may need to do this to make kobo work:
% sudo mkdir -p -m 777 /Library/Preferences/KoboDeluxe/scores
I've opened up the Terminal, and nothing happened; even tried making the directories manually in the paths specified.
Can you figure it out?
EDIT:
Problem solved: I usually install test applications on an External HD.
Once i reinstalled into the Macintosh HD, it worked. And yes it is very fun. |

Hey, that looks a lot like a PC game from like 10 years ago that I can't remember a name of, it was played online but all the engineers at the ISP that I worked out.. wtf was it called..
Anyway, lemme see.
edit: Kobo Deluxe runs, but I can't figure out how to actually get to the game.. |

Well Kobo Deluxe is based on xkobo, which appears to be dead but goes back to at least 1995... |

Yeah, but I think xkobo is based off something else, which was around in the early 90s, but Jesus I cannot come up with the name, and googling hasn't helped at all. |

I can't seem to open the Super Mario War site for some reason. The URL's been down (or, more likely, Comcast is choking on it) since the topic was posted. |

So is anyone interested in an online match of Super Mario War? Clearly a bunch of us have it by now. |

Damn, I was under the impression that it was an online deal too. Just seemed like the natural thing to do, I guess. |

Oh, when I saw that it offered multiplayer I assumed it was for online - Who wants four people (or even 2) crowded around a keyboard? |

Well, with a game like that you'd kind of assume everyone would have a controller (which is funny, because in the compiled-for-hacked-xbox version I played, the control kinda sucks. I guess it's easier to play with a keyboard.. or the xbox controller is just a POS.) Online play is sort of an obviously-missing feature, though. |
