I was thinking of bumping my old Zelda 3 beta topic, but figured people were tired of hearing about it. I found this out a few days ago. I decided for the hell of it to check out the rated O website and saw that. I'm pretty damn sure if it was legit, someone wouldnt give away a beta likely worth thousands in so petty a contest.

Interestingly, the guy also completed a revelutionairy fake rom hack. http://www.ratedo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=143

Of course he won't release the rom hack which many better men before him have failed to create.

The real issue here is:

Looks like this is a quality ROM hack. And since it's only margarine, we won't be able to play it.

However, it seems like the basis is just plain old Legend of Zelda. He's going to have to do a fuckload of hacking to actually introduce dialogue within the game aside from dungeon and shop dialogue.

Would someone want to waste that much time to make a quality game if they are just wanting a little attention? Probably, not... eh?

Because the true, and sad scenario is -- just like this site tries to explain -- quality works may go completely unrecognized.
