Here http://cah4e3.shedevr.org.ru/misc/pd.mp4 small video. There is two identical Perfect Dark carts, seem no any differences, NUS-NPDE-USA (don't know version, sorry)...
But first one cart on the video have different intro. There is no (seems so) ROMs with the same intro. Looks like something new, eh?

Is that your cart? If so it's pretty easy (and dirt cheap) to dump N64 games.

Get yourself an Action Replay PRO for N64, (same as a GameShark but some of the GameSharks had this feature removed to cut production costs - Action Replay's always work though so it's a safer bet when purchasing)

You'll need a male<->female parrallell port cable also to hook the Action Replay up to your PC.

Then use the GSCC Tools and click on "Dump Cartridge ROM"

It's a slow process but it's foolproof and cheap. Way cheaper than a copier.

If your interested and need any help let me know.

It's your progress in the game, I'm rather sure about that.

My cart (PAL) plays the same intro as the first cart there, and I have a near "perfect" save on my cartridge at the moment.

My guess is that you don't have any profiles/saves on the second cartridge, or atleast not played very far into the game with any of them.

Yeah, that first intro is unlocked when you beat the game. There's even a menu option to turn it off, if I recall.
