Skrybe sent me a whole bunch of prototype snes roms to release. I'll be doing this gradually so that there is a decent article for each rom.
First release is a beta version of Rockman 7. There are quite a few changes between the beta and the final version, and I have documented some of them:

We appreciate it, Evan.
Just to give credit where it's due, these games were dumped by Ballz, rbudrick, and Gideon Zhi. |

Alright, I'll mention that in subsequent articles. |

... I've been lurking here for ages (...since the FF2 article, maybe earlier?), and yet I've never actually posted/registered. Oh wow. D: Time to try to ask a relevant question, like a healthy forumgoer: ... wouldn't it be somewhat interesting if someone knocked together either a savestate or a PAR code for the rockman 7 proto to try to access the stages that *aren't* present, just to see what other kinds of strange differences lurk under the normally-visible content? I'm not too deft with a hex-editor, but I might take a stab at it. :O Anyone more competent than I getting the same idea? |

I am a big Mega Man fan, so I checked out this proto today. Here's more differences.
- You start out with the the Mega Buster, Super Adapter, and R Coil.
- One enemy from Turbo Man's stage is in Cloud Man's stage
- Slash Man is one of the first four bosses instead of Burst Man
This is my first post by the way. |

Yeah, seriously. I was hoping someone would take a shot at that too. |

If someone documents a list of all the changes, I will certainly add it to the page. |

I'm not really familiar with Rockman 7, but if I remember right, changing your level pointer in a savestate is like... piss easy, so I'll try to get right on that. D: I make no guarantees, but I'll do my best! |

The level number might be located in the same RAM adress than the final version, so the same PAR code would apply.
But it might not. |

I really should read the rest of these forums before shooting my mouth off elsewhere ;)

Nice one, big cheers to everyone involved.
The dialog scene is in a similar style to the first 3 X games.
(Ofcourse, the difference between final and sample were already pointed out, but just felt like adding that) |

So is Sculptured just a reasonable guess, or did you manage to find credits in there? |

Hey, I didn't realize we handed this off to you (PUN UNINTENDED I SWEAR), god knows what we would've done with it. Good job with it.
Also, what redeye said, re: Sculptured Software. I'm guessing you're making an educated guess, but I'm pretty curious where you getting the assumption from. |

Well, I am making that assumption based on the fact that it uses the exact same game engine as NCAA Baskeball, Tony Meola's Soccer, and NHL Stanley Cup. So yeah, it doesn't explicitly state that it is Sculptured Software, but I think it is a pretty safe assumption. |

heres a level from MM7 that seems to have no password
the password it puts out is "8735 2537 5412 8362"
which just takes you to the begining of the game
the same level in the proto
anyone recognize the level? |

Looks quite generic... But anyway, how did you access it? |
