|
|
I saw the STV game and I tried to download it, but, it did not work. I was wondering if someone had it or other lost star trek games on a cd rom with easy installation to where even I could do it or on the originalk cartridge. Let me know! |

I've always been creeped out by people who come to a message board asking for something, and their username refers to what they are asking for. |

What you downloaded is the ROM image of the game. As it is an NES game, not a computer game, it is not an executable file. You will need the proper software to run it, in this case, an NES emulator.
Assuming you are using Windows, you can download an emulator, with which to play this here.
There are many emulators out there, the one I linked above is an Open Source emulator called NEStopia, it is very stable and will run the ROM you have just fine. |

Now, do I save the emulator? and How do I make it work with STV and other games? As in what is the procedure? Thanks. |

You save the emulator to your computer and extract it to a folder using winzip or winrar. Then you open the emulator up and click File->Open. Then you locate the star trek rom on your computer and open it. You can configure the controls in Options->Input. |

What is wrong with my user name? I could not think of anything else and since it was one of the things on the website that I liked I thought I might as well as use that one, also, it was the first trek movie that I saw in the theater so, what is wrong with using that? You do not see me nitpicking anyone else's name! Also Drakee, what gives you the idea that this is my 'first time online' I use the internet all the time for e-mails, I post on the AACA forum (antique automobile club) all the time and the LCOC website and the Star Trek website, I have 2 e-mail accounts and I am probably on here 2 times a day! I also have been using ebay for a long time too (in addition, I am from the pre-internet era! (was there such a time?) when we had green screens and massive floppy discs!
Hey! I just got the game working! what a crappy looking game, But I love it! Sulu looks more like Scotty! Thanks for your help! Are there any more nes Trek games that were cancelled? |

Star Trek V is the only one, as far as I know.
You might be interested in this thread, there's a link to some video of the canceled PC game Secret of Vulcan Fury. |

'You're Lawrence Luckenbill, aren't you?'
Interesting you would say that! My Uncle starred on broadway for many years and was nominated for a Tony for a musical called Two By Two, Lucy Arnaz (Lucy and Desi's (of I love lucy fame) daughter) wanted to learn how to sing, so, she came to my Uncle and they are still good friends today and she even sends my grandma Christmas cards and talks to her on the phone occasionally and guess who Lucy Arnaz is married to?
You guessed it! Sybok himself Lawrence Luckinbill! I even have a personalized autograph from him (and he even drew the Vulcan salute on it!) on a picture from the studio hanging on my wall! I also have a picture of my grandparents with Lucy and Lawrence in their living room in New York state around the time when Star Trek V came out. One night I was looking through the pics. with my 87 year old grandma and we came across the one with Lawrence Luckinbill and Lucy and I said look it's Sybok! and she replied "Who?"!
So, STV is close to my heart, even though it sucked in comparison with IV and II and VI and even III. Remember the studio cut the budget on the movie and there was a writer's strike and Industrial light and magic was conveniantly not available.Because it was the first Trek movie I saw and it had my good friend Laurence Luckinbill in it! |
