Actually, I was referring to Chaotix. I was under the impression that it was developed alongside the 32X, based on what others had said in IRC. There's been a lot of confusion surrounding these protos overall.

Yeah, Sega doesn't exactly have a sparkling reputation when it comes to localization (but then again, chopping stuff out recklessly was still the norm for a lot of companies back then). It's like they were required to put a certain amount of blank space in each ROM or something. |

How about a tall glass of go-fuck-yourself Jurai? =)
Anywho, yeah, save the pedo comments, I've heard every last one of them.
As for the protos, I'm glad that a huge chunk of crap could be released like this. This kind of stuff needs to preserved before lame horders snag it.
And for those who are curious, here's my crime: Sexual battery by restraint (California Penal Code § 243.4 (a))
Translation, I made out with my ex's 15 year old friend, and grabbed a boobie. The rest of the rumors are greatly exaggerated. |

It goes without saying that this release is amazing. Unfortunately I can't torrent right now. Anything interesting from the Sega CD side of things?
Did most of these come off some old computer system or what? |

This release is not all I have. I will be releasing more over the next hours, days and weeks - Dreamcast Sonic protos, Ecco protos, more Sega CD protos, so stay tuned! |
Are those Sega Pico dumps the first ones publicly available? |

I think pico used some touch screen or something that isn't supported, so all you can do is look at the title screen in curent emulators. |

The Sega Pico, also known as Kids Computer Pico (キッズコンピューター・ピコ, Kizzu Konpyūtā Piko?), was an electronic toy by Sega. The aim was to get more young children to use video game systems.[verification needed] The Sega Pico was designed for ages 2–8 and the slogan was "the computer that thinks it's a toy."
The cartridges were called "Storyware," and were book shaped. Each time a player turned the page of the cartridge the screen changed to replicate the image in the book. The games were controlled by a "magic" pen and buttons. The back page of each book featured a drawing mode, where the player can insert stamps of characters from within the book. All software rated was rated EC - Early Childhood by the ESRB.

I've been told that the Pico is nothing more than a Genesis, minus the Z80 and YM2612, sped up 50%. You can run the ROMs in KEGA Fusion, but of course you won't be able to do anything, and the speed's most likely wrong. |

Besides, are we really missing anything? I mean, it is edutainment software. I don't see a big push to get Leapster games emulated or dumped. |

I would think that a Wacom tablet or something would facilitate the emulation of Pico games, at least in theory.

DS has a touchscreen, and that is emulated by showing a 2nd screen and mouse, so they could do that with pico probably. And the page turning could be simulated by a option menu asking which page you want, or just have a turn page forward and back button. There's probably enough interest in the lost sonic game to warrant someone adding emulation of Pico. |
