Totally news to me. Now I really do have no reason to keep my hardware. At least I know who to give it to. I have a friend who loves Sega as much as me, and would take good care of it. And now, I canplay Virtua Racing without hooking up my behemoth Genesis+32x+CD deck! |

The DSP chip used only in Virtua Racing carts on the Genesis. Probably pretty similar to the Super FX (though I have a feeling the Super FX is more powerful). |

Is there a difference between this game and the already-emulated 32X Virtua Racing? Because, while laudable, I don't really see much practical use for supporting it. |

Yeah! It's got fewer tracks. |

I played it at the Blockbuster tournament, and I always loved seeing the Genny do real polygons. Made me proud to stand up against SNES owners back in the day. "Yeah, my system can do that too!" It's a pride thing. Plus, it was the last Genesis game I own that wasn't emulated, so now I can retire my Genesis. Only bring her out for special occasions now. |

the best reason: people which have played it on the real thing would enjoy to play again this version after 17 years, and not an improved version on 32X
also, technically it's a great achievement and emulation is available atm in Picodrive, MESS and Regen (in order of addition)... choose the one you prefer or keep playing to the 32X version |

At least this version doesn't have horrible load times like the Sega Saturn one. |

Thats cos it was AWESOME, and wasn't farmed out, like that Saturn port. Time Warner Interactive did the SS version. |

Actually, it was programmed by SEGA, but they elected not to publish it in North America themselves, much like Shinobi Legions, which they licensed out to Vic Tokai. These flagship titles being abandoned to 3rd-parties in favor of shit like Bug and the decision not to release the 4MB RAM pack for the Saturn helped kill the platform. |

The Japanese version was published by TWI, too. |

Interesting. The game was still coded by SEGA. Wonder why they farmed it out to an American company. |

Are you sure? I wish I could find some credits. Not that it means anything, but even the ranking initials seem weird. |
