Must be Adam West batman, then.

Yeah, Adam West hates elephants. |

Oh, I forgot to answer this. We've done this many, many times. The overwhelming majority of the stuff we put out on the internet was a result of greasing palms, either with cash or with original prototype cartridges. Lost Levels is kind of expensive! |

So, anyone dump their Airball cart yet, or are they even shipping yet? Rom would be nice. |

Just arrived today. Pretty sweet - with box and manual (all 6 pages of it).
As far as the ROM, it's dumped already. You just have to look around a bit. |

I've heard the rumor about Airball using some kind of custom hardware too, but bunnyboy's repro uses standard UNROM. Airball should work on any of the donor carts that work with California Raisins. |

I had assumed the "extra hardware" rumor for fact too, but then one of the proto owners sent me a picture. The proto was definately just on a tengen unrom clone. These pictures make it pretty clear too:

I read somewhere that unrom was the only mapper that nintendo patented, and I've wondered if there could be a connection. That could be a huge red herring... LAUGHING OUT LOUD |

Impossible Mission 2 wasn't the only Nes game by Novotrade. They also made Tiny Toon Adventures Cartoon Workshop, and the conversion of Qix. |

There are graphical changes between the two dumps that are too superficial to have been made by Retrozone. I'm pretty certain this is a different build than what Retrozone used for their release. Not sure which build is closer to final, though. |

Judging by a couple of altered graphics I noticed:
hybrid's version is likely newer than the Retrozone version. The original "spell" on the left was probably hard to read on an NTSC TV, so they straightened out the lines a bit. The demon head was probably deemed a bit too scary and changed into the generic dragon on the right, leaving a couple of tiles empty in the process (usually a good indicator of a late graphics change). |

Remember how mysterious homemade Airball carts used to pop up on ebay occasionally? Those came from a known manufacturer of homemade carts, he bought an original and was slowly trickling out these copies to make his money back. I'm guessing this ROM was from his version.
Portnoyd, wherever the hell he is, has a copy also that he was supposed to send out ages ago. |
